Featuring, Jewelry By Scotti!

I absolutely love handmade jewelry, its definitely my passion. Discovering Jewelry By Scotti was pure joy! She makes beautiful beaded jewelry and many have wonderful animal theme. Because she loves animals so much, she donates at least 20% of all her sales to the Humane Society of Central Illinois: http://www.hscipets.org/ How compassionate is that?

Particularly fond of this gorgeous Amber, Honey-Gold, and Jasper Pendant Necklace and Earrings set, I had to post it here for all of you to fall in love! Doesn't it just make you want to visit Owyhee county?

A double-sided Owyhee picture jasper pendant hangs from a double-strand necklace that blends shades of rich, warm amber and honey with tigerskin jasper and leopard jasper beads. Owyhee jasper comes from the "Owyhee Gem" Mine in Owyhee county which is in southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Owyhee Jasper has a wide variety of patterns and shapes, and is known for its bright colored scenic patterns. Jasper is thought to protect against negativity and to promote healing. Silver and tortoise accents add the perfect touch to this unique and beautiful design. The necklace measures 16", and the rectangular pendant measures 1-1/4" by 1-3/4". Ear wires are sterling silver.

Peach Silk Bead, Vintage Pearl Necklace and Earrings is another very pretty piece that I really adore!

"Peachy" is how you'll feel and look in this ultra-feminine necklace and earring set. Silk-covered vintage beads, vintage pearls, and rectangular beads in soft shades of peach alternate with lacy silver bead caps and silvery spacers. The necklace can be adjusted from 16" to 18". Ear wires are sterling silver.

Island Spirit Bone, Wood, Agate Necklace and Earrings

The colors in this delightful set will remind you of papaya, coconut, and pineapple, warm sun, and gentle breezes. A lovely 1" round pendant made of bone features a delicate brown bird against an ivory background. Red agate bamboo beads, yellow agate rounds, and honey calcite nuggets bring to mind the flavor of delicious island fruits. Dark brown wood beads provide the perfect accent. The necklace measures 24". Matching earrings are made with hypoallergenic no-nickel plating.

Jewelry By Scotti used Bone, agate, honey calcite and wood to make this pretty piece!

Emo Heart, Fused Glass Pendants-My new Etsy Jewelry Shop

Apparently I am not cool. After having a 5 minute conversation with the next door neighbor's young teenage daughters, the new term for having an attitude or being cranky is now called, Emo. As in the conversation I witnessed, "Tell kayla to stop being so EMO!!" Huh? So I decided to try out my new found word by putting it in as many sentences and contexts possible. "Too spicy? Heck, being so EMO, cry baby!" or I tried, "What, you got another arm, stop being so EMO!" when my husband cut off his arm. (just kidding)

...So my week didn't go as well as I had hoped it would (since I was so annoying), but on the flip side, I got great inspiration to start a new shop where I can safely vent all of my distortions from main stream society into fun emo glass creations! "YEY!" Says my husband! So Emo Heart was born!

Emo Hate Love Crossbones

I mean, how cute is this Emo red heart that has a hand painted checkerboard on it! I hand painted the words Love and Hate on this cute emo piece and then fired it in my kiln at super high temperatures to permanently set the fused glass paint.

Then for something a little spicy or dicey! This is my Emo Heart Red Polka Dot Handcuffs Handcuffs Fused Glass Pendant Necklace
Is this super cute or what? Totally original, this red heart has super sweet and innocent white tiny polka dots. I thought, "oh how cute....hum" and decided to make it a little naughty by adding some handcuffs! OR it could mean, "you freed my heart!" or "Unleash my love!" Either way, its super fun. I mean whats not to like about red fused glass hearts and handcuffs! Happy Valentines day, baby!

Emo Heart Skulls and Bones Crossbones Cute Girlie Skull with Pink Bow Fused Glass Pendant and Necklace
This little white heart with skulls and crossbones seems to be popular immediately! Completely handmade, this is an adorable white heart with serious Emo attitude! The skull and crossbones were hand painted by me and then fired to very high temperatures in my home kiln. So never worry, the fusing glass paint will never chip, flake or peel off. This pendant measures 1 3/8" w x 1 1/4"h.

This one of a kind fused glass skull and crossbones piece is unique and original! Smooth and comfortable to wear, this girlie skull and crossbones pendant set is also lightweight and super fun to wear! Receive compliments from your friends! If you would like matching hearts with maybe different colored bows, just let me know! Great gift for friends, sisters, anyone!

To give this skull and cross bones a girlie feel, I added a pink bow to its skull head and created sparkly pink dichroic fused glass hearts. This awesome emo heart skulls and bones pendant is mounted to a sterling silver bail and comes with an 18" silver necklace.

So come visit my shop at shop called "Emo Heart" at http://www.etsy.com/shop/EmoHeart Or if you have any ideas, please post them below! I would love some suggestions!

Leather wrist cuff stitched design hand made up cycled
The intricate stitch design adds just the right touch to this brown leather wrist cuff. Wear this earthy upcycled cuff for a relaxed look.

I am moved by wildcatleatherco's great appreciation and respect for animals and the world surrounding her. I asked wildcatleatherco a few questions about herself and her craft and here's what she said!!

Tell me about yourself and your shop/craft
I live in Central Fl with my husband and one Cat... Have always been a 3 cat household at least, but lost two of my babies, over the last 2 yrs.
Have been very much into making things for over 25 yrs.. Have made everything from Christmas decorations, Crocheted baskets, mop dolls angels, to jewelry and leather items.. and tons of stuff in between.

I'm now making mostly leather items, like cuffs, pouches, book marks and jewelry items. I plan on making journals, coasters, and barrettes in the near future.
I love working with leather, and wish I had started sooner. I can incorporate my love for making jewelry and use all the cool gemstones, feathers, and other jewelry making materials, that I love to work with.

Am a true animal lover, have not eaten meat in over 17yrs... So I was conflicted about working with leather, so I threw my concerns out to the universe and Spirit and asked for an answer. The answer was as long as people eat meat, the skins should not be wasted. I say a little prayer for the soul of the animal and ask permission, before using a new piece of leather.

2) Do you have a tip you can share regarding your art/craft?
Ok tip.. lets see..." Cut leather often will have rough edges... There is a plastic tool you can buy, but if you don't have one, Try using a piece of blue jean material or try other fabric you have in the house. Rub it up and down the leather to smooth."

3) How did your start doing your art/craft as a business?
When I got serious about making jewelry, it started out as a hobby I was serious about. But I got so carried away, that before I knew it, there was jewelry and supplies every where. I had a good amount of money invested.. I had no choice, but to start doing shows, which lead to selling online.

4) When you get in a creative funk, what do you do to motivate or inspire yourself?
Often I just let it ride, do other things till my creative juices start to flow again.. It's only a matter of time. But if I want to push myself I can go through my supplies and let my gemstones talk to me.

Beautiful Artistic Soaps by Shiny Cat Creations!

Hi Everyone! Sooo, I attempted to make soap once, yep once. I bought the crock pot looking soap melting device, all the fragrances and a mold, certain I would create a masterpiece! And well, I have to say I wasn't too terribly successful! So when I discovered Shiny Cat Creations on Artfire, I was in awe of her work and how tasty they looked!!

Milk Chocolate Soap how can it get better than this?

Perfect Valentines Day Gift for your sweetie! This milk chocolate glycerin soap smells like a cross between a tootsie roll and a milk chocolate piece of candy. This yummy smelling soap even has a “white chocolate” drizzle for that added cute touch!

I love that Shiny Cat Creations lists all her ingredients so nothing is a secret, its all good stuff!

Sweet and Fruity Body Butter Lotion Vegan! Talk about sexy, this creamy body butter lotion is just what the doctor ordered, perfect for those cold evenings! Fruity mix of blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry finishing off with a light scent of flowers and powder. If you love fruity smells, you will absolutely love this! This is a wonderful body butter that is thick and non greasy. It soaks in fast and feels silky after you rub it in.

Sweet and Fruity Berry Soap

I asked Christina from Shiny Cat Creations some questions so we can all get to know more about her and her great handmade soap craft!

1. First off, tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi! My name is Christina and I used to make jewelry but now I make soap! My store is http://www.artfire.com/users/ShinyCatCreations and I’m absolutely in love with soap making. After 15 years I’ve finally found that thing that makes me say “THIS is what I want to do!” You can be so creative in the soap making process from picking out what types of soap (Olive oil is my new favorite) to picking out the color to match the fragrance. There are so many fragrances out there, I find myself wanting to try every single one of them! I spend many hours a day reading soap making blogs and websites and I am just amazed at what people can do with soap. I used to make candles when I was 20 and loved that, so I’m really surprised I haven’t tried making soap sooner since it’s so similar to candle making.

2. Do you sell anywhere else besides Artfire?

I have a few soaps up on Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/ShinyCatCreations

If I have 3 or more of something, I’m listing it there also just so some more people see it.

The majority of my items will be at my Artfire store though.

This is a two part question:

3. What do you think has been the easiest part about selling on Artfire?

The seller’s tools are awesome! I love all the features like listing an item from one page, being able to have 10 pictures and so many more features that there are too many to list really. The SEO on Artfire is amazing also. They really do a lot of the SEO work for you. This is really the first time since selling online that I find my items on google.

The help on the forums is awesome also, from the administrators to the other sellers. They are all very willing to help you if you have a question.

4. What about the hardest part?

I would say getting out there and making myself seen. Trying to get people to look at your items without being “spammy”. Trying to promote yourself, promote others, design and make soap does get to be a little much some days. Sometimes I sit here and wonder where the day went!

Spice Cake Soap, Bundt Pan Shape

5. What future goals do you have for your Artfire shop?

More sales of course! My goals are to get myself seen on Artfire and off of Artfire by taking business cards to various places and possibly by having sales representatives. I’m going to start with my family first!

6. Where else can we find you? (Facebook, Twitter, Blog, Etc)
